Hello design support,

i have a question about the UCC28951-Q1. Is it possible to combine this IC with GaN-FETs?

The idea is to use this IC to control a PSFB with Gan drivers and GaN-FETs on the primary side as well the secondary side.

Whereby the swithcing frequency won`t be higher than ~750khz.

Hello,

I don't see why it won't work with GaN FETs. It should work with Gan FETs. I would suggest maybe ordering the UCC28950 600 W EVM and modifying it support GaN FETs.

Suggestion for modifying the board

1. Replace the UCC28950 with the UCC28951-Q1

2. Replace the Half Bridge FET Drivers and FETs with GaN FETs and Drivers.

3. TI does have GaN devices that have internal drivers that you could use for your design and evaluation. You can find these devices at the following link.
