LM26001B: Internal FET Information

Part Number: LM26001B

Hello E2E Experts,

Good day.

I cannot manually compute necessary CBOOT unless I have information on the internal FET, in particular the total gate charge Qg. Do you have this information?

Reference is the app note below.

Thank you in advance for your support.

  • The recommend CBOOT is 100nF. 10VDC rating should be sufficient.

  • Hello Marshall,

    Good day.

I understand the use of 100nF as the datasheet for this device recommends. I have a schematic here that is using 22nF and I am wondering if this is a problem. The designer of the circuit is reluctant to change the value because they have used 22nF in the past. Can you let me know if there is any danger in allowing them to continue with the 22nF value rather than the recommended 100nF value?

    Regards,

    CSC

  • Hello,

I would recommend them following the datasheet recommendation of 100nF.

This is what the team came up with based on product design and validation.

If the customer were to consider a lower value, I would advise them to preform thorough bench evaluation, with focus on device operation at max duty cycle across the load range of the application.
