TPS55165-Q1: days in low-power mode lead to IC dying and no ouput

Part Number: TPS55165-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS55165Q1-EVM

Hi,

Our TPS55165-Q1 design works well but if we drive PS high and leave it for a few days in low-power mode we sometimes come back to a damaged part which outputs 0V. The load on the output when in low-power is very low, just a few mA.

We noticed if we place a differential scope across either of the bootstrap caps that in normal mode it's around 4V with some spikes up to 5V, but in low-power mode it's at 5V with spikes up to 6V, violating the 5.5V absolute max for BST pins.

Are there any known issues with PS mode? Do you see the same on your EV board?

thanks,

Keith.
