What are needed to build a development environment of BMS?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ79656EVM-021, BQ79600EVM, LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012, USB2ANY

Hello TI-support,

I would like to build an environment of BMS system with TI EVMs.

I want to use the following EVMs:

1.BQ79656EVM-021

2.BQ79600EVM

3.LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012

Do you have any recommendation for shunt current sensor and NTC? which Components do I still need? Which cables shall I also use?

Which software/tools shall be installed for the development?

Which hardware for debug / flashing are needed? Do you have any recommendation?

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,

X.Chen

  • Hi,

As for hardware needed for debugging you could do this a number of ways. The simplest way for initial bring up and getting familiar with the devices would be to have the EVMs connected to a PC via a USB2ANY device.

As for software you will likely need or find use for the BQAutoEval GUI and pertinent dependencies. These are listed in the GUI User's Guide. There is also example code that you may find useful for your own software creation.

And finally, as for the shunt current sensor and NTC we don't recommend any in particular. To connect the EVMs to your PC you will need the twisted pair cables that come with the EVMs and the ones that came with the USB2ANY if you choose to go this route.

    Best,

    Nancy
