TPS62135: No models/parts in PSpice Parts Search

Part Number: TPS62135

Hello,

I just downloaded and opened up a new PSpice simulation file. According to the videos I should be able to click on the PSpice Part Search icon and see a list of TI components, but I see an empty window. I did not have any issues downloading or installing the software so curious if there may be another step in order to bring those in? I did not see any information regarding a next step being necessary as I assumed the models would be loaded and ready for use.

Could use some direction to get me started and find the TI models that are available for use. Thank you.

  • Hi Michael,

If the device is not showing up in PSPICE for TI, you can also download the PSPICE files from the TI.com product folder and import into the design.

I would try creating a new project, then there will be a side window docked for PSPICE part search.

Alternatively, you can also go to the top tab Place>PSPICE Component>Search..., after there is an active project/schematic opened.

Let me know if that helps.

    Thanks,

    Joseph

  • What I was referring to is when I installed PSpice for TI I assumed it would come preloaded with a number of TI parts already. However, when I click on PSpice Parts Search I have a completely blank window. The video on the TI website, the first instructional one, shows how you select the PSpice Parts Search and you should then see a whole host of TI parts to use in your simulation, but I see nothing. I opened a completely brand new project, named it as a PSpice simulation file, etc and this is what happened. What would you suggest I do to rectify this issue?

  • Hi Michael,

Can you capture what you are seeing within PSPICE for TI? It should come loaded with all the TI devices.

Also, what video are you referring to?

    Thanks,

    Joseph

  • I just created this by New Project. When prompted I selected Blank new schematic. You can see the PSpice Parts Search window to the right.

  • Hi Michael,

I haven't encountered this issue before.

However, I have a couple suggestions:

    1) Can you try to reinstall the TI part models by going  (Help>"Reinstall TI Models and libraries") within PSPICE for TI

    2) If the first doesn't work, you can also try uninstalling PSPICE for TI and reinstalling.

    Thanks,

    Joseph

  • I think I figured out my issue. I have OrCAD as my schematic editor and layout tool and so the PSpice for TI kind of defaults its logo to the same one for OrCAD and I think I opened an OrCAD file not a PSpice for TI file. When I did that I was able to see the parts.
