Hi,
I want to know about the power factor, input and output power of the attached circuit and also the temperature when it is operating in normal conditions. Please help me find out all these parameters.

hi
Change 220Vac to 45Vac, do the fourier series based on 50hz, below is the result.
PF is around 53%,
the power loss is hard to predict as the raisng and falling of high side fet is hard to predict. but it will close the buck efficiency of 42Vin, 24Vo 2A if we ingnore the inductor and C150 loss.
And why can't I find the power efficiency
And I want to find the efficiency and power factor at 220V ac not at 45Vac
Could you please design this schematic in Webench tool so that I could have a detail analysis of all parameters.
Actually I am beginner and don't know how to use Webench.
Hi
Webech can't simulate the Zeta. the PF is do the FFT analysis of AM1. As power factor is effective power vs total power, in another word, if Iin is same freqeuency with Vin, it is effective power, Irms will be total power.
so using FFT to abstract the 50hz Iin rms value VS total Irms will be the power factor. it will be same no matter using 220V with transformer or directly use 45Vac .
TINA is more a behaviour model, so the efficiency will not be accurate by TINA simulation.
How did you configured that power factor is 53% (0.53). I mean, is it mentioned in output? At where?
If power factor is really 0.53, then PF is very poor. Is there any way to improve the power factor of the circuit
Hi
you can find detailed define in below article
//www.ti.com/seclit/ml/slup203/slup203.pdf
you can do the FFT analysis in TINA for AM1 waveform, then you can get similar data like below. Set basic frequency at 50Hz , then you can use the formula above to get the PF
For improving the PF, better to use PFC circuit , you can find more detailed in Ti.com or I can forward you request to other team in E2E.
Thanks
Thanks Daniel
Please direct my request to your team to assist me improving power factor of the circuit as soon as possible.
I have tried to simulate the circuit but the convergence error is popping up again and again.
Could you please provide me the simulation file from where you have done the simulation.
HI
We don't support PFC soltuion. You can sumbit a new quesition to let other team to proivde a proper PFC solution.
Thanks
