Hello,

We plan to develop 5Gbps USB type-C UFP Device only "Memory bord" which is not integrated CPU, standalone control system.

Initially we plan to utilize TUSB320I and TUSB542, but it require I2C for TUSB542 SEL control.

In this case, Is TUSB322I only the one candidate for CPU less Hardwired SEL control system?
Is there USB controller and 2:1 MUX integrated "2 in 1" device in TI portfolio?
HD3SS6126 can be alternative device for TUSB542 MUX function?

We do not have an integrated USB controller + 2:1 MUX solution.

Do you have a block diagram that you can share? Is this a USB Type-C design?

Hi David,

If we unitize HD3SS3220 as GPIO mode, can we replace TUSB542 with TUSB321AI chipset without CPU?

HD3SS3220 device configuration would be NC of ADDR pin for GPIO mode and Low of PORT pin for UFP mode.

The TUSB542 + TUSB321AI provides CC controller, MUX, and signal compensation function.

The HD3SS3220 provides CC controller, MUX function without signal compensation.

But for both solutions, you would still need a CPU or a USB host to communicate to USB devices over the Type-C.
