BQ40Z50: BQ40Z50 RSOC jump in low temperature

Part Number: BQ40Z50
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: GPCRB, GPCCHEM

Hi

The customer design with bq40z50, the problem is the RSOC jump in the low temperature.

They also used GPCRB update the parameters. but the problem still did not resolve.

Attached the GPCRB report, GPCCHEM report and log data.

Please give some suggestions about this problem.

Thanks

  • Hello Star,

I think their results are actually quite good for the temperature range and how much the temperature varies I'm surprised they are getting as good as it is. Log 11.16 does have a drop but it is minimal at 3%.

Log 11.17 doesn't appear to have an RSOC drop. When you use the GPCRB tool it is optimizing for the data provided, with this kind of low temperature any small changes can impact accuracy greatly, it is tuned for that specific pack to get the highest accuracy, when it is used with other packs at this low of a temperature I would expect the variation in cells to lead to a couple percent error

    Sincerely,

    Wyatt Keller
