BQ76952: BQ76952: SCD Recovery

Part Number: BQ76952

Hello TI,

I've a question regarding the SCD recovery settings for BQ76952 IC.

When we short circuit the battery pack, what should be the parameters that needs to be configured for recovering the SCD only based on charge current.

So, here the SCD shouldn't disappear by just removing the short on battery pack. It should recover only when a charge current of at least 200mA is detected.

Also, what should those parameters be set to for proper recovery.

Kindly help.

Thanks,

Sushma.

  • Hello Sushma,

Yes, you can set the device to recover solely with a charge current. You will have to enable SCDL (Settings:Protection:Enabled Protections C:[SCDL]) and set SCDL limit (Protections:SCDL:Latch Limit) to 1, so that it triggers after a single SCD event. Then you can configure the device to recover with a charging current.

How to configure it to recover with a charging current is described in the last paragraph of Section 5.2.6 Short Circuit in Discharge Protection in the Technical Reference Manual.

    Best Regards,
