LMR64010: Looking for a DC-DC converter that can output 40V say 1.5A

Hi Experts,

Our customer is looking for a DC-DC converter that can output 40V say 1.5A. This is for a pulse-loading application.
He has located LMR64010XMFX/NOPB. This seems to be a good part, but is there a version that gives slighter higher current at 40V. This looks like can give 200 mA at 40V.
And also the input Max. is 14V. Do you think there is a solution for a slightly higher Vin max.? He also mentioned that high switching freq. is desirable for smaller comp. As this is for a high-volume production the cost needs to be small.

We also see LM5176 but very costly for the customer. He said that the design is for high-volume production and the cost target for the entire design (Trackpad) is $10. Hence, he needs a cheap and simple solution.

We also came across LM5157 as well. Do you think it is a good part? Please advise. Thank you

Vin (min.) 4.5V and Vin (max.) 16V or so.

Below are additional information from customer:
"I noted the 40V curve on the Vin:Output current. It looks super marginal at 5V. Hence I am slightly worried about relying on just 5V. I plan to bring in 12V supply in as well, but it all depends on what is available on the mother board or I have access to. The end customer is not going to reveal that as yet. Hence, I am looking at covering all corners.

I don't need 1.5A. I think 200 mA + is a reasonable value for topping up the output cap for the pulse loading."

Please excuse the late response.

Which device are you referring to?

For 200mA, I would check the boost converters. Tonight I do not have the list properly on the mobile phone. I will check with the mid VIN team.

Hello Gerald,

I would recommend LM51581 for this low current application. LM51581 has the lowest current limit of the devices with integrated switches that can deliver more than 40V.
