UCC28070A: FMEA and protection recommendation

Part Number: UCC28070A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28070

Hello support team,

My customer inquires the following item, could you support?

*FMEA information (adjacent pin short, pin open)

*Do you have any recommendation to put zener diode for over voltage or schottky diode for negative bias voltage on each pins? If yes, please let me know which pin on UCC28070 need.

Thanks,

Koji Ikeda

  • Hi Ikeda-San,

Thank you for the query on UCC28070.

You can have a schottky diode between GND to GATE to protect from negative voltage at gate exceeding the abs. max negative ratings and damaging the device during gate oscillations. Positive voltage clamp can be achieved externally by using a zener on the GATE and VDD pins (although both of them are internally clamped).

Regarding FMEA data, I am not having any data currently and think a PPAP request has to be submitted/ sales has to be contacted for this. I have looped in Ray as well to see if he has any data.

    Regards,

    Harish
