UCC27424: Output spike

Part Number: UCC27424

Hi Team,

My customer found that the output signal of UCC27424 will have a spike(~23V) when the input PWM signal width is narrow, the output signal is around 10V under normal condition.

What's the possible cause of this issue?

CH1: OUT CH2: IN

Thanks.

Regards,

Charles

  • Hi Charles,

Can you share more details? Are you using the driver's outputs in parallel? Also, what is the red trace?

If you do not want to share a schematic on the the public forum, you can add me as a friend on E2E and share them that way.

Normally it should not be possible for the driver to create a spike like this. Since the driver can only pull up to VDD or down to GND, something needs to go wrong for this to happen. Most likely, it is related to parasitics. Interestingly, there seems to be spikes on IN and OUT at a steady frequency, and this incident happens on one of those spikes.

    Thanks,

    Alex M.
