BQ27426: BQ27426 schematic leakage current

Part Number: BQ27426

Hi

The customer design with BQ27462, the problem as below.

When use load sw turning off the Fuel gauge power Vcell in, the SRP pin still has battery voltage due to the battery voltage.

At this time, voltage about 0.5V will be measured on the Fuel gauge BAT pin, and there is a discharge resistance (280Ω) in Vout when U35 in load sw off state.

Please help confirm whether the leakage of the red path exists?  The actual test found that the battery has about 3mA leakage.

Waiting for your reply.

Thanks

  • This looks like it's violating the abs. max. (VBAT + 0.3V). The gauge has ESD protection diodes hence if you forward bias them with a circuit that violates abs. max., you'll measure excessive current (and risk permanently damaging the part because those structures aren't designed to carry 3mA).
