Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A57, TPS7A54, TPS7A53
Dear Sirs,
May I use 2 LDOs in parallel to get a double output current?
My customer wants to use 2pcs TPS7A7401 to do such design.
Please help to advise.
Thanks.

Hi Peter,
You can parallel the TPS7A7401. However, you will likely need to use the current sense + op-amp method, instead of ballast resistance method, because the references are not available on a pin so we cannot tie them together. Adding an Op-Amp, compensation components, and components for 2 LDOs will raise the price to be on par with the TPS7A53. it will be easier to use an LDO that can provide at least 3A current such as the TPS7A53, TPS7A54 or TPS7A57. Can the customer use any of those LDOs instead?
Thanks,
Stephen
