TPS40200: Rectifier diode switching loss

Part Number: TPS40200

I have a question about the switching loss over the Buck converter diode on page 22 of the datasheet of TPS40200

https://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/tps40200

My understanding is that the diode junction capacitance (also diffusion capacitance) will be charged and discharged over a switching cycle.

Equation (14) is the power loss associated with this mechanism.

Do you have any good reference about this? I am asking this question because I didn't see this loss mentioned in most of the application notes.

I am wondering why.

I think maybe 1) Reverse recovery loss does not exist in Schottky diode, 2) The switching loss in equation (14) is so negligible that is not even mentioned in the application notes.

Thanks

Ye
