BQ79612-Q1: BQ79612-Q1 Schematic Review

  • Hi,

I was able to review the schematics. Here are some feedback/questions to consider:

    1. I don't quite understand why you connected the first 7 cells to one device then 9-14 to another device, could you explain?
    2. It looks like you're using cap only isolation on the 714 devices and transformer isolation on the bridge. Why? We generally suggest that the isolation types match.
    3. I would suggest using 220nF cap on DVDD

    Hope this helps,

    Nancy

  • Hi,

    Thanks for the quick review.

    Here are the responses

    1. We will be using two BQ79612-Q1 devices to demonstrate the daisy chain functionality. So first 7cells on 1 device and the next 8-14 on the next device

    2. Yes we are using Cap only isolation since the devices are on the same PCB. So as per suggestion we will remove the transformer isolation and use cap isolation on the bridge also.

    3.  We will update with 220nF on DVDD for the bridge device.

  • Sure thing. Thanks for your response, these updates sound good.

    Best,
