TPS3805 - Automotive (Q1) and Enhanced Product (EP) as Alternates for Commercial Parts

Can Automotive and Enhanced Products be used as drop-in alternates for commercial parts?

I have a board with TPS3805H33. If I can't get the exact part TPS3805H33DCKR, can I drop in TPS3805H33QDCKR-EP or TPS3805H33MDCKR-EP?

Does no one from TI have an opinion about this? I'll let you know the outcome if we try it. I would still like to hear an opinion from TI if they monitor this.

Charles,

The "EP" and "Q" versions of the device are the high reliability devices and are screened to more stringent specifications than the standard version. The "EP" and "Q" versions are backward compatible with the standard device. The standard device should not be substituted for the "EP" and "Q" versions though.
