Hi Team,

Customer would like to design PD controller.

Has TI developed the PD that is integrated with the Short-to-VBUS Overvoltage Protection?


Would you please help review and provide your comments?

    Hi Scott,

    Which pin(s) requires Short-to-VBUS OVP? The TPS25750 has CC pins that are 26V tolerant which allows protection in Short-to-VBUS cases. 

    What other features is the customer looking for; are they looking to support Alternate Modes, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt, Dual Port, etc.?

    Hi Scott,

    Please refer to our product comparison PDF attached below. Some of our devices have implement Short-to-VBUS protection, others require external protection. I highly recommend looking into TPD2S300, TPD4S311(A), TPD6S300(A), and TPD8S300(A) for SBU/CC/D+- protections.
