TPS746: TPS74612PQWDRBRQ1

Part Number: TPS746

Hello

We are using TPS74612PQWDRBRQ1 in our design .

We do not have any extra pin of processor to connect with power-good signal ..So can I left floating this signal or need to connect with ground?.What is the exact value of input and output capacitor?[15] POWER SUPPLY.pdf

Please review our design and give us your valuable feedback as soon as possible

Kindly find the attached schematic pdf

  • Hi Siddhi,

For TPS74612PQWDRBRQ1, you can leave this floating or GND if not used. You can find this information in Table 5-1 of our Data Sheet:

Also, the schematic that you shared shows the PG pulled up to Vout, this is ok as well since it is the open drain topology.

The value of capacitors is highly application dependent. The minimum capacitance needed on the output for stability is 0.47uF, therefore, depending on the application use case, several 1uF capacitors can be installed i.e 1uF|| 1uF|| 1uF, to take into account the derating of a single 1uF capacitor.

For the input, the device does not require capacitance for stability, but it is always good practice to place some capacitance at the input to help minimize input impedance.

All of this, as already mentioned, depends on the application and needs. It is recommended to place few capacitors in parallel as well to help reduce the impedance and, depending on the input source, it helps filter some of the noise.

    Best,

    Edgar Acosta
