Hi,
I'm not very clear about the function of 'EN_SHIP_DCHG'. When to use it or what's the use case of this bit? May someone explain more?
Thanks.

Hi Diverger,
Thanks for your patience. The user case is, when the end equipment is built and put on the shelf. We would like to enable the battery ship mode, so the battery won't be discharged after a long period of shelf time, for example months.
To wake up the battery in ship mode, the charger will charge up the VBAT to a pre-determined voltage.
To avoid waking up the battery in ship mode, the charger will discharge the battery cap to ground or a low voltage, provided the battery is in ship mode, by setting EN_SHIP_DSG =1.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
What do you mean 'battery cap'? This is what confused me. If it means a capacitor connected to the battery, then how to discharge the capacitor without discharging the battery? Or it means disable the battery FET then discharge the cap?
Thanks.
It first needs to disable the battery FET (inside the battery), then discharge the cap outside the battery.
