BQ76952: OCC configuration

Part Number: BQ76952

Hello,
I'm testing OCC function on BQ76952 in autonomous mode. Our sense resistor/shunt value is 0.4mOhm (1A results in 0.4mV drop across the shunt).
If I want to set the OCC value to say, 4A, then the shunt drop will be 1.6mV. How do I make this setting on OCC as decimal values cannot be set?
As per the configuration settings, minimum value of OCC threshold is 2 (which sets to 4mV drop across shunt). Does that mean I can configure the OCC setting at a minimum current value of 10A (at 0.4mOhm) and not below that?
Please guide me in this regard

Thanks & Regards

  • Hi Ibrahim,

True, you cannot directly set the threshold to a level below 4mV.  The most straightforward fix would be to increase the sense resistor, but I understand that may not be possible for you.

    Thanks,

    Terry
