LM3434SQ-20AEV: LM3434

Part Number: LM3434SQ-20AEV

I have a design where the LM3433 device is used to power LED boards having measured forward currents [Blue LED(I-E-0255) @ 5.506A, Green LED(I-E-0248) @ 5.486A, UV LED(I-E-0323) @ 2.496A and Red LED(I-E-0274) @ 5.498A]. Only one LED is on at a time.  The LM3433 is now discontinued but there are quantities of the LM3434 on our broker market, can we directly substitute this into our design.  Form and Fit appears to be the same between the two devices but I do see there's the following differences:

1.

LM3433 - Operating input voltage range of -9V to -14V w.r.t. LED anode

LM3434 - Operating input voltage range of -9V to -30V w.r.t. LED anode

2. The Output Application Circuit (datasheet version SNVS535B –OCTOBER 2007–REVISED MARCH 2008) Fig 2:

LM3433 is 2A to 14A Output

LM3434 is 20A Output

Overall what are the design changes that would need to take place when moving from LM3433 to LM3434.  Our design uses the same circuit from the Evaluation Boards for the LM3433.

Thanks!
