Hi expert,

Customer used LM5020MM-1/NOPB but see D5 damaged. Could you please help review the circuit and let us know what might be possible causes and how to clarify the issue?

Hi Alan,

Have you measured the voltage stress of D5?

What type of diode are you using for D5?

Please try ultra-fast recovery diode such as ES1D.

Hi Feng,

The Vcc is measured 13.06V. V(D5) is 13.13V.

The type of D5 is Schottky Diode which PN is CDBW46-G. Is there any concern to use Schottky Diode?

Is this a single failure in mass production or D5 will damage for every board?

It's just a single failure in mass production. Would you please clarify is it necessary to use ultra-fast recovery diode and the reason?

Hi Allan,

You can use schottky diode.I worried if you were using slow diode.

I do not see any problem of the diode.
