Please recommend a product that meets the conditions below.

- Cell chemistry : Li-ion / Li-polymer

- VIN : 5V

- ICHG: Max. 3A

- Application : E-cigarette

- Need to limit charging current to 500mA when connecting laptop/computer

- Control interface : Stand-alone

A competitor is the MAX77757/MAXIM.

- When the adapter is connected, the charge current is set to 3A, and when the PC is connected, the charge current is set to 500mA.

Hi MJ,

BQ25616 is a Standalone Charger, see datasheet 9.3.5, Charge current must be programmed to a value within a range of 300 mA to 3000 mA with a pull-down resistor on the ICHG pin. The charge current is set as: IICHG = KICHG/RICHG

one possible way : MCU plus a mux to select two different Ichg setting. MCU can do detection for adaptor or PC then do different selection.
