UA78M-Q1: AEC-Q report of UA78M-Q1

Part Number: UA78M-Q1

Hi team,

My customer needs the AEC-Q100/200 report of UA78M-Q1, but seems that we don't have that?

In the datasheet and Quality, reliability & packaging data download page, I only find this part is automotive rating. So is it means it does not pass AEC-Q grade? If it is the case, do you have any pin to pin solutions to replace UA78M-Q1?

And can you help explain the relationship between automotive rating and AEC-Q qualification? Thanks!

Regards,

Xiaoying

  • Hi Xiaoying,

Generally speaking we qualify our automotive devices for AEC-Q100 for ESD and thermal applications. However this is an older device, so I am going to loop in one of our automotive team product marketing specialists to help with the request.

    Regards,
    John

  • Hi Xiaoying,

UA78M-Q1 is automotive-qualified, meaning it has passed all of the AEC-Q100 failure-mechanism-based stress test qualifications listed in the AEC-Q100 manual. This is the same as having an "automotive rating."

When referring to "grades" in relation to AEC-Q100 standards, this typically is meant in terms of the device's operating temperature range. Available grades are 0, 1, 2, and 3, and each grade corresponds to an operating temperature range. Please see the page in the AEC-Q100 manual labeled "Page 3 of 42" for a complete list of available device grades and their corresponding ambient temperature operating ranges. The device's "grade" is determined by temperature-related stress tests. The device must pass all sets of the relevant qualification tests to achieve a particular grade.

UA78M-Q1 is Grade-1 qualified, thus it has passed all of the relevant Grade-1 qualifications defined in the AEC-Q100 manual

The manual also details the specific tests that must be passed for a device to be considered Grade-1 (as well as other grades), and the results of each of these tests for UA78M-Q1 can be found in the Quality, Reliability, and Packaging Data document you mentioned, here for the 5.0V version of this device, and here for the 3.3V version of this device.

In short, an AEC-Q100 qualification indicates that the device has passed an extensive list of failure-mechanism-based stress test qualifications, while "grade" is just one subset falling under the umbrella of those qualifications. UA78M-Q1 is automotive-qualified and rated as Grade-1.

    Regards,
