BQ4050: Can not control charging MOS

Hi expert,

My customer wants to use BQ4050 in a new project.

And they are new to this device. they configure the BQSTUDIO under their understanding.

But they found the XCHG is always 1 ,

they use RESET command to reset the device, turn the FET_ON to 1, clear all the protection configuration but don't work.

here is their schematic and bqstudio expand file.

could you kindly check it and found out the root cause?

    Hello Emma,

    Do you mean they set FET_EN = 1? The FET_EN allows the gauge to control the FETs so they won't be able to manually toggle them when FET_EN =1.

    Can you share a screenshot of their register dashboard with all the bits? They will need to make sure they have the gauge set to non-removeable if they don't use the PRES pin.
