TPS7A20: What is TPS7A20 recommended operation humidity range?

Part Number: TPS7A20

Hello guys,

One of my customers is considering using TPS7A2012PDQNR and TPS7A2025PDQNR for their new products.

They have the following question at this moment. Could you please give me your reply?

Q. What is TPS7A20 recommended operation humidity range?

Your reply would be much appreciated.

Best regards,
Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

All orderables for this device have a Level-1 MSL rating, which indicates the lowest moisture susceptibility. With that said, I can't provide more details right now if there is a specific humidity tolerance. I'll reach out and get back to you about it.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Thank you very much for your reply.
Also I'm looking forward to receiving your next input.

Thank you again and best regards,
    Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

There is not a recommended operating humidity range for normal use that we can provide, but I can provide you with the testing information for MSL and for the pre-conditioning of devices during qualification. Would this information be relevant/good enough for your customer?

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Thank you very much for your reply.

Yes. Could you give me the information?

Also is it an information of THB(Temperature Humidity Bias, condition=85 degree C/85%RH) or BHAST(Biased Highly Accelerated temperature and humidity Stress Test, condition=over 100 degree C/85 %RH) for TPS7A20?
If so, can we say that the device operation humidity range is between 0%RH and 85%RH?

Thank you again and best regards,
    Kazuya.

  • Hi Kazuya,

Yes these are the tests to which I was referring. That is probably reasonable, but we don't have data showing that the device can operate at 85%RH at an elevated temperature indefinitely since the stress tests are only for a specified duration.

    Regards,

    Nick

  • Hi Nick,

Thank you very much for your supports and I'm sorry to be late my response.
The customer understood TI doesn't have recommended operation humidity range.

Thank you again and best regards,
    Kazuya.
