BQ76PL455A-Q1: Question about BQ76PL455A-Q1

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1

Hello:

BQ76PL455ATPFCTQ1 battery disconnection detection data is ambiguous,

What is the comparison value before and after the wire break detection setting? Is there a definition?

we do some test:

The first is the value of wire break detection, and the second is the value of normal reading. Why is the difference so large? According to the standard in the manual, the line is broken

Our reading is normal,Thanks!!!

  • Hi Jimmy,

There is a Squeeze function in BQ76PL455A-Q1 that helps to detect open sense wire conditions. Enabling Squeeze function turns on a 5k Ohm resistor
across adjacent VSENSE pins and creates additional voltage drop through the 100 Ohm resistors in series with the VSENSE pins.
This causes an increase in the voltage applied to the window-comparator blocks above and below the inputs that
have the Squeeze resistor applied. To enable the Squeeze function, set TSTCONFIG[EQ_SQUEEZE_EN] =1.
Please refer to BQ76PL455A-Q1 datasheet section 7.3.12.8.1 for more details of an example and block diagram.

    Hope this helps, thanks,

    Helen
