LM25066A: Diode Pin Temperature Characteristics

Part Number: LM25066A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM25066

Greetings.

My team and I have two questions regarindg IC LM25066APSQ/NOPB.

1) Regarding the DIODE pin.  I see on the datasheet that it can be expected to have an accuracy to within 2 degrees (at room temperature) to 10 degrees.  Is that accuracy temperature based?  Furthermore, The test conditions indicated on the datasheet are between 10 degrees and 85 degrees C.  What kind of performance/accuracy can be expected at -40C, which the IC is in within spec.

2)  What kind of behavior can be expected from that pin if it is neither connected to an npn transistor nor grounded but left open??  Will it still give any type of satisfactory temperature readings?

  • Hi Lopez,

    Welcome to E2E

We will check and get back by Monday

    Best regards

  • Hi Lopez,

The LM25066 is mainly used in enterprise markets where the equipment is in a controlled environment. Hence, temperature accuracy is characterized over an ambient temperature range of 10 °C to 85 °C. We don't have accuracy data at an ambient temperature of -40 °C.

Keeping the DIODE pin OPEN can lead to the development of unknown potential at this pin. No useful temperature data can be obtained in this scenario.
