BQ79731-Q1: BQ79731-Q1 Chip not able to Communicate with our MCU we are using SPI Protocol for the Interfacing

Hi Ti,

We are using BQ79731-Q1 in one of our Design but we are unable to have a Communication with the High Voltage Core IC(BQ79731-Q1) with our MCU, as per the Datasheet we are using SPI Communication Protocol.

Initial Diagnostics performed.

1. Isolated Power Supply for the BQ79731-Q1 is Verified and we are able to Measure 5V_ISO and 15V_ISO.

2. MCU Power Supply is Working As expected.

3. SPI signals are verified From the MCU and CS,CLK and MOSI is coming properly as expected only MISO(High All the Time) is not able to Read on the CRO and No response, PFA of the signals Captured for your information

Could you Please let us know what will be root Cause.

also let us know if there are any steps/Procedures need to be followed to wake up or make a communication with the BQ79731-Q1.

    Hi Shubham,

    All the steps are on the datasheet, no more hidden steps or skills to communicate it by SPI.

    Suggestions for you:

    1. Confirm you have set SPI mode

    2. Can you wake it up by sending wake ping?

    3. If you have the EVM, can you compare the your own waveforms with the waveforms on your EVM?

    4. Do you have the sample code? If no, please request it on below address or contact your local FAE.
