BQ20Z655-R1: 'RSVD' bits in SafetyAlert(0x50) & SafetyStatus(0x51)

Hi,

Can you guarantee that the 'RSVD' bits in SafetyAlert(0x50) & SafetyStatus(0x51) in the bq20z655 -R1 will never be set?

We have a new design that uses the bq20z655 -R1 based on an old bq20z95 design that reads and makes decisions on a POV bit in the RSVD location.

Hello Carl,

The RSVD bits differ from "unused" bits. Therefore there is a (low) probability that it may change.

Unfortunately, our customer will need more confidence in this so that we don't see any future issues.

Is it possible that TI firmware team can look into this?

Hello Carl.

I requested the firmware team and got confirmation that the RSVD bits are actually unused, so the bits will not change.
