LM74910-Q1: LM74910-Q1 about TMR question

Part Number: LM74910-Q1

Hi, Support Team

we have some question as below

In the datasheet of LM74910 shown, the TMR is to set delay time

  1. When TMR pin is open, does it have over current protection? If yes, what is the protection value?
  2. When TMR pin is short to GNFD,  it doesn’t have over current protection as datasheet described?
  3. How large the C_TMR we could use? 1uF?

if any suggestion, Please advise me.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Lawrence

  • Hi Lawrence,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Let me get back to you with answers by tomorrow.

  • Hi Lawrence,

    1. If TMR pin is open, the over current protection is still active. Leaving TMR pin open will set the set the timer duration to minimum. This means when the load current goes above over current threshold as the timer duration is almost zero seconds, the controller will turn OFF the FET immediately.

    2.  Connecting TMR to GND will disable over current protection.

    3. There is no limit to the maximum timer capacitor value. Using higher timer capacitance will increase the timer duration. So, please select the timer capacitor accordingly.
