BQ27426: FS file

Part Number: BQ27426

Hi team,

Here's an issue from the customer may need your help:

1) After a successful FS file load, how to confirm that the registers have been written successfully?

2) After a successful FS file load, will it be saved in flash in fuelgauge? Does the Fuel Gauge need to reload the FS file after power loss?

3) Does the data in Extended Commands change during operation?

4) Can the data in Extended Commands be read back periodically? Is an UNSEALED operation required for readback?

Could you help check this case? Thanks.

Best Regards,

Cherry

  • Hello Cherry,

    1. If there is no communication error, then the FS file loaded successfully. The host can always read the Data memory parameters back and verify but that is not necessary unless communication checks are not reliable

    2. The Fuel Gauge need sto reload the FS file after power loss

    3. There are many extended commands, some of the values will change during normal operation. There are not many reasons to use these commands in normal operation.

    4. We recommend not reading Data memory periodically. This will take away CPU cycles from the gauge and could result in issues depending on frequency of reading. For sealed unsealed access refer TRM  Table 6-1. Extended Commands

  • Thank you for your support.

The extended command changed to the sealed state after the Fs file was loaded successfully.

Will the register value change if the register in the sealed state receives external interference?

  • Hello Wang,

The TRM Table 2-1. Standard Commands has information on which commands are accessible and what type of access is available in sealed mode.

If the external interference results in writes of the commands that may be written, then the register value will change.
