UCC28070: Synchronization problems

Part Number: UCC28070

Hi,

We have a problem with UCC28070 that causes it to lose synchronization.

It is known that the behavior changes depending on the maximum duty setting.

We have confirmed the operation under the following conditions

common condition

fsync:213kHz

tsynk:250nsec

Rrt:100kΩ

<Condition 1>

Rdmx:68kΩ

It stops responding to the synchronization signal once every 10 pulses. (Waveform 1)

<Condition 2>

Rdmx:62kΩ

Operates normally (Waveform 2)

 <Condition 3>

Rdmx:75kΩ

Only 1 pulse out of 4 pulses is synchronized

The design of Rdmx is shown in equation (10) in the datasheet, and the Rdmx calculated by this equation is 59.7 kΩ. ( for Dmax=0.95)

Resistance values higher than 59.7 kΩ caused synchronization problems, while lower resistor values resulted in normal operation.

What is the cause (internal operating mechanism) of not operating at the frequency of the synchronizing signal when Rdmx is increased?

Please tell me how to design the upper limit that can be set for Rdmx.

For example, it should be less than or equal to Rdmx calculated with Dmax = 1
