TPS22810: Slew rate

Hi Team,

Can you please help check what is the issue with the customer simulation below?

When the CT pin is not used for changing the slew rate, the circuit behaves correctly as seen below:

but when they connect the C1 capacitor to CT for to have a lower slew rate, a sudden drop is observed :

What could be the problem?

Hello Marvin,

I've ran this same test and do not see any drops on the output. Which model file were you using off of the product page?

Hi Kalin,

They are using the one available directly from TI.com. Do you need the simulation file that they're using?

Hello Marvin,

There are numerous simulation files on ti.com. The only one we're able to actively support is Pspice for TI which is derived from the one I used and did not see this issue. Is this the one they're using?

The behavior shown in the simulation above is definitely a bug and would not happen on the actual device. We could provide EVMs for bench testing as well if that would help.

Hi Kalin,

The model they use is the second model available on the product page. Is there an available bugfix for the model in our product page?

Their schematic can be downloaded from the link I added on the thread tracking toolkit.

Hi Marvin,

Please direct the customer to the "TPS22810 and TPS22810-Q1 Unencrypted PSpice Transient Model Package (Rev. A)" below the model you have highlighted in green. Using this model, we do not see this behavior.

This will be show the best behavior of our models as PSpice is the platform we currently support. In addition, to showcase the most accurate device functionality, we recommend the use of an evaluation model, available on ti.com: https://www.ti.com/tool/TPS22810EVM for bench testing.
