I am working with a 12.8V 3Ah LiFePO4 4 cell in series pack. When I hook it up to the BQ20Z45 EVM (HPA325 Rev. A) evaluation board, start the easy BQ software and press refresh the software reads the voltages from the first 3 cells but doesn't see the fourth cell. I do have a voltage on the wire lead coming into the terminal block from the Posative end of the 4th cell so it has to be something going on in the eval board its self. Has anyone else had this problem? Please let me know what I should look for to resolve this issue. Thanks!

Make sure to configured the data flash for a 4 cell configuration. The default is 3 cell, so you will need to change the CC1, CC0 bits in the following register:

Go to -> DATA FLASH -> Configuration -> Operation Cfg A

Hey Deepak,

Thanks for the response. I see where the register is but can you please tell me how to change the bits of cc1 and cc0 to 1?

If you read what is in that location, the 3rd least significant byte contains cc1 and cc0. The default for Op Cfg A is 0329, so the third least significant byte is 3 meaning cc1 and cc0 are set to 1 by default. Whatever that byte is, though, you can simply enter a new value in the EVSW and hit enter to modify it. Since the two other bits of that byte are reserved, just change it to a 3 and keep the other bytes the same. So if you are reading something like 021A, then just change the 2 to a 3.
