TPSM846C23: Replace EM2140P01QI to support stratix-10 FPGA confirmation

Part Number: TPSM846C23
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS53688, TPSM846C24, TPSM8D6C24,

Hi team:

My customer want to replace EM2140 device in their Stratix-10 platform, At the beginning , we are promoting TPS53688, but after understanding of their power tree, i think that will have lots of design margin.

And i see, there are two recommendation of TPSM846C23MOLR and TPSM8D6C24MOWR, can you help to confirm that whether we can matching with this FGPA?

 TKS !

Here attached the spec for reference:

 1.FGPA SERIES:  1SX065HH2F35I2VG

it seems like it have SVID function ,but the spec does mention about that.

 2. Original design requirement : 5.4V IN ,0.85V40A output

The TPSM846C24 will support 0.85V @ 40A in a 2-phase configuration.  So will the TPSM8D6C24 dual module, which may be a better solution given that this will be a dual application.

The piece I'm not seeing, since the specifications shared appear to be in Chinese, is what data formats the Stratix 10 expects for VOUT_COMMAND.  I believe the Stratix 10 reads VOUT_MODE (Command Code 20) to know the VOUT_COMMAND (Command code 21) data format, which both devices would support.

With the correct command support, I don't see a reason why either the TPSM846C23 or the TPSM8D6C24 would not work, but the later is likely a better overall solution.
