Hi, TI support team

1. We are going to develop and review the combination of Battery Charger IC + Fuel Gauge with the specifications below.

- Vin : 5V (type-C)

- Chemistry : Li-ion, 2cell

-Vchg : 7.4V

- Ichg : 2A(max)

Please recommend a solution with the above specifications.

2. We are going to develop a charging credle. It is planned to be designed to charge two 2-cell batteries, and use an external adapter to receive 5V or 12V input, respectively max. It is a specification that can charge 2A.

Please recommend a Battery Charger IC that meets the above specifications.

Hello MJ,

For fuel gauge I would recommend bq28z610 or bq40z50 family of gauges

The customer has no development experience using TI fuel gauge.

What materials are needed for the latest development review? (EVM, etc.)

If the review is conducted using fuel gauge EVM, are the data that can be provided different depending on the battery chemistry?

Please provide guidance on the progress of the development review.

Hello MJ,

Customer will need the EVM, EV2400 and bqStudio to start. Use the GPCCHEM tool to get the closest chemistry match. Please start a new thread if you have specific questions about the gauge that you chose.
