TPS6594EVM: EVM TPS65941212EVM + TPS65941211EVM Bring up problems

Hi support team,

I'm facing problems with the bring-up of the TPS65941212EVM + TPS65941211EVM boards.

The two boards are stacked up, Vin = 3,3V, USB connected to master TPS65941212EVM.

All jumpers left at the state of delivery.

Immediatelly after connection the following message appears:

Both devices appear as can be shown below:

All Buck Regulators remain off and the status registers can be seen below:

Which steps do I need to follow do to get the BUCK Converters up and running?

Hi Gery,

The issue your are seeing is that the PMICs are not communicating effectively. Please ensure you have the jumpers of the TPS65941111EVM configured in the slave configuration. J37 "M/S Select" should be on the slave side for TPS65941111EVM and master side for TPS65941212EVM

Hi Gery,

Please read all the interrupts from both PMICs. This may show more information than just the interrrupts from 1 pmic.

Hi Gery,

The FB_B3 pin of the TPS65941212 is set to monitor a 1.1V rail. If it is not provided with 1.1V, the BIST will fail during the power up sequence. This may be the issue you are seeing. Is FB_B3 connected to 1.1V?

Hi Daniel,

applying 1,1V to TP6 from external source has solved the problem.

Where I can find the NVM configuration file for the TPS65941212 + TPS65941211?

The templates on the GUI include only the TPS65941213 + TPS65941211 file.

Hi Gery,

Unfortunately we do not have a current JSON file for the TPS65941212 + TPS65941211 configuration. I would recommend looking at the user guide for the settings
