BQ40Z80: Shutdown Issue

Part Number: BQ40Z80

Hi,

We have an issue regarding to the BQ40Z80 SHUTDOWN.

There is a large cap (47uF) at the PACK+ on the Motor Drive board. Please refer to following figure.

After SHUTDOWN 0x0010 is commanded, the BQ40Z80 will turn off both charging and discharging. Due to the CAP on Motor board, the BQ40Z80 cannot enter the SHUTDOWN mode as the PACK pin voltage is > 2V.

Does TI have solution on this? It is common to have large CAP at PACK+ line.

Thanks,

Kim
