TPS65295: junction temperature

Part Number: TPS65295

Hello team,

My customer are using the theta JA coefficient (58.10 °C/W) provided in TI’s documentation to obtain the maximum temperature of the device , junction temperature, at the maximum power required by our design operating at a maximum air temperature of 50 °C. The switching regulator efficiency is not know in ds. But we are calculating the efficiency as 90% efficiency as the following file.

/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/196/juncion-temperature.xlsx

The customer has questions as below.

1.  Is the calculation in the excel file is correct?  If not, please correct the file?
2.  If the calculation is correct, what is the efficiency of switching regulator in TPS65295 do we consider?
3.  Is the customer able to use the TPS65295RJET under the specified conditions of excel file?

Your advise is appreciated.

Best Regards,
Akihisa Tamazaki
