TPS63802: TPS63802 Output not disconnected when EN is low

Part Number: TPS63802

Hello - We are trying to use TPS63802 for a battery powered application to boost a 1-cell LiFeP04 battery to 5VDC. In this application, we are relying on the output to be disconnected from Vin when the EN pin of TPS63802 is low. However, we are still seeing roughly Vin-0.6V on the output of the TPS63802. We are expecting to see 0V on the output to reduce battery consumtion and leakage. Are we misreading the datasheet where is says " True shutdown function with load disconnect"

  • Hi   Joshua,

    Thanks for using TI's device.

I think it is impossible if there is no external path or other power source connected to the output.

Below is the picture i got based on our EVM. When EN is low, the output cap start to discharge with a very small current. Finally, it will go to zero.

    Regards

    Tao
