BQ27426: Some questions in parameter setting

Part Number: BQ27426

I have some questions about BQ27426:

1. What are the functions of the maximum analog rate and the minimum analog rate? Do users need to set?
If setting is required, how to evaluate the reasonable setting range? If the default value is used, what is the basis for setting the default value?
2.Whether the two parameters of Trace Resistance and Downstream Resistance need to be set by the user?
If user setting is required, how to evaluate the setting range? What is the basis for setting the default value? If possible, please explain the specific functions of these two parameters in detail?

  • #1: There is no analog min/max rate. Do you mean min/max simulation rate? You don't need to set these. They are boundaries that are intended to prevent unreasonable (pointless) discharge simulations in case load prediction is incorrect.

#2: You can add series resistance in the wiring from the cell to the gauge in these parameters. You need to measure them (e.g. PCB trace, connector resistance and set the values accordingly (also see TRM for the difference between the two parameters). If you don't set them, the gauge will add them to the resistance measurement, which is part of the cell model and this will taint the accuracy of the prediction (because the actual resistance isn't part of the cell).
