TPS7A24: Alt Source LD2985BM33R Bypass Cap

Part Number: TPS7A24
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LP2985A

Hi Team,

There is a production design with LD2985BM33R which has a bypass cap on pin 4. We're looking at replacing it with TPS7A2433DBVR but pin 4 is a NC. If we were to drop-in TPS7A2433DBVR into the same circuit with they bypass cap, would there be any performance impact to TPS7A2433DBVR?

The datasheet and internal threads say there is no internal connection so there should be no impact to device performance but I'd like to confirm.

Thank you,

TR

  • Hey TR,

Thanks a lot for reaching out. You can use TPS7A2433DBVR as a p2p replacement device because Pin 4 is not internally connected and it should be perfectly fine. But I like to propose a newer alternative LP2985A33DBVRM3 for this socket. I have shared the performance comparison details with you over your email.

You can also check the performance of LP2985A33DBVRM3 in the LP2985A datasheet where its performance is marked with nomenclature as "New chip"

    Regards,
    Rohit
