TPS92200: Example stencil design error on VQFN-HR package?

Hello,

the TPS92200 comes in a VQFN-HR package - RXL0006A.

The example stencil design (solder paste mask) shows paste outside the copper pad area on pins 1 and 6.

Can we assume this is an error? If not, why is paste required outside the pad area?

This has been asked before (7 months ago) with no answer presented.
