any solution to support dual DC input PSU

Customer was asking for the solution to meet the below requirements

1. Dual input source

1) 9V~60VDC

2) -38.4V~-72VDC

Need to support one source switching to another one, without damaging the system

2. Vout=12V

3. Output power level: 70W

Could you please help suggest any solution? Thank you.

Hi Aki,

It looks like you need two power supplies followed by an OR'ing controller to support this. The BSR team has several Flyback/SEPIC controllers that might do the job. Our general-purpose PWM the UCC28C50 might also be an option.

Can you confirm they have both a postive and negative supply voltage for producing the 12V rail?

They required the 2 input source to share the same input connector.

Hi Aki,

To be clear, they have one connector where either a 9-60VDC or a -38.4 to -72VDC power supply can be connected and they would like it to work? You may want to submit a request to PDS to see what they recommend.
