TPS62056: Overcurrent Protection Response Time

Part Number: TPS62056

Dear Specialists,

My customer has a question about TP62056.

I would be grateful if you could advise.

---

The data sheet for the TPS62056 states that it has a TYP1.2A current limit function,

and that the overcurrent protection function works when the current exceeds the limit value.

(1) How long after the limit value is exceeded does this overcurrent protection work?

(2)After the overcurrent condition is gone, how long does it take to normal operation ?

I couldn't read from the datasheet.

---

I appreciate your great help in advance.

Best regards,

Shinichi

  • Hi Shinichi,

The current limit is cycle by cycle current limit.

    1. If the current limit value is exceeded on one switching cycle, the over current protection will work in next switching cycle plus a little internal propagation delay of typically 50ns.

    2. Same as above item #1. just one switching cycle+50ns propagation delay.

    Hope this helps,

    Thanks,

    Nancy
