Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62110
We use 3 TPS62110 DC-DC step down converters to create +3.3V, +1.2V, and +1.2V_CORE rails for an FPGA. The +3.3V supplies the bank I/O power, the +1.2V powers a serdes block, and the +1.2V_CORE supplies the FPGA core. The 3 TPS62110 converters are fed by a common nominal 8V supply. The 8V is supplied by 26AWG wiring approximately 30" long.
Periodically, our FPGA's are being damaged and the most common - by far - way of damaging an FPGA is by overvoltage on the FPGA rails. So we believe that our TPS62110 rails are likely going unstable.
