I have got questions of maximum rating and Digital I/O specification from a customer.
In the datasheet, the maximum rating for the input is " min 0V, max 1.0*supply" and almost Digital I/O spec is "VIL min=0V and VIH max RL" (for example; TPS65930 swcs037g.pdf Table 3-1 and 3-4) . In this case, when the signal from OMAP inputs to TPS659xx, the input signal is exceeded Digital I/O spec, because the signal from OMAP is specified Vout = min -0.3V and max RL+0.3V.
In generally, digital signal has the room of +/- values in the specification. But TPS659xx's input specification does not have it.
Is the maximum rating same "Digital I/O specificaion"? What is "Digital I/O specification" meaned? Do we need to keep the Digital I/O specification 0 to RL? And is the specification of HFCLKIN 0 to 1.85V?
If we need to keep it, we need to add the means (for example; clamp, series resistance and so on).
Could you please teach the views of "maximum rating" and "Digital I/O specification" ?
Thanks and best regards,
Atsushi
