TPS3510: TPS35AA38AGADDFR

Part Number: TPS3510
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS35

Hi

Customer condition is 3.3v application, the detection is slow and needs 50sec before the boot is completed The detection speed should be fast after booting up, please suggest suitable products What is the difference between startup delay /watchdog time /assert time?

  • Hello Gareth,

Below is the description for various timers listed above.

    1. Start up delay - This is the time allowed for host boot up. After the Vdd has ramped above voltage threshold and the RESET pin is deasserted, the device will not react to watchdog error to allow for host boot up. The max time allowed is 10 sec based on orderable. User needs to provide a valid WDI transition during time to close start up time. This is an indication about host boot up complete. If the valid WDI transition is not detected during the start-up time, the WDO or RESET pin error will be asserted. Pinout A,B,C offer only RESET output while pinout D offers both RESET and WDO error outputs independently.

Based on your description, it appears your host needs 50 sec to boot up. Since TPS35 does not offer more than 10 sec start up delay, you can use a pinout which offers either WD-EN pin or two SET pins. Using these pins to keep Watchdog disabled during the host boot, and once host is up and running, host can enable the WD operation by controlling WD-EN or SETx pins.

    2. Watchdog time - This is the watchdog timer needed for the application after host boot is complete. The time can be set by external capacitor (pinout options A or B) or using fixed time option (pinout options C and D). The values are mentioned in the above image from datasheet.

    3. Output assert time - In case of error (either voltage supervisor or watchdog timer error), the output pin RESET or WDO will be asserted. The pin will be deasserted after a fixed time (for supervisor the time starts when supply voltage rises above threshold+hysteresis). The time can be set by external capacitor (pinout options A or B) or using fixed time option (pinout options C and D). The values are mentioned in the above image from datasheet.

Based on your application needs, we can recommend a suitable orderable.

    Do share following details.

    1. Voltage thershold to monitor 3.3V supply

    2. Start up or boot time

    3. Watchdog timer (fast) needed for application

    4. Output assert time

    Thanks & Regards,

  • Hi Shridhar

    Thank for your reply

The model name should be TPS35CF58KAGDDF, its SOT23 C-type, 2.9vdc, 1.6sec watch dog time trigger and 200msec reseting pulse .

  • Hello Gareth,

Thanks. Based 2.9V threshold, the part number will be TPS35CF38KAGDDFR.

As you can identify, we can generate multiple OPN for this device. We cannot release all together. This OPN is not part of the initial release list.

We can still work to arrange samples for you. Please reach out to local sales contact to arrange for samples.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Shridhar.
